In a new title to join the Fashion Eye series, American photographer Sean Thomas turns his lens on a vibrant and colorful Texas, both picturesque and authentic, brimming with ranchers, cowboy boots and flamboyant sunsets.

Long fascinated by cowboys and cowgirls, Thomas traveled the length and breadth of Texas to scout out the men and women living the legend of the American frontier, at rodeos, livestock auctions and other events, in regions where cattle and horses reign supreme. Apart from bringing fresh energy to iconic scenes, he also gives us glimpses into less familiar aspects of Texas, especially through images taken in Houston and in Marfa, today’s bastion of American modernism in the minimalist vein. From page to page, Thomas offers a gallery of atypical personalities, with a bevy of Stetson, and an entrée into a very American way of life, set to country music, with John Wayne as its standard bearer.

ABOUT THE FASHION EYE SERIES

Each book in Louis Vuitton’s Fashion Eye series reveals a country, a region, a city, or a destination through the gaze of a fashion photographer. Title after title, a broad compendium of perspectives emerges, one that shifts with the destinations, including urban panoramas and natural landscapes, scenes of local life, and more contemplative work. Fashion Eye gives rise to an unprecedented dialogue between emerging talents, seasoned photographers, and fashion photography legends.
