    Louis Vuitton created a special-order trunk to transport "The Milkmaid" by Vermeer from Amsterdam to Tokyo.

    Since its founding, Louis Vuitton has been the master-packer for some of the most precious objects in the world. This year, true to its passion for creation and strong support of the arts, the Maison has teamed up with the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam to transport one of the museum's most important pieces: Johannes Vermeer’s "The Milkmaid". On the occasion of the exhibition “Making the Difference: Vermeer and Dutch Art” at the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo, the world renowned masterpiece travelled in a bespoke Louis Vuitton trunk from its home in the Netherlands to Japan.

    The Milkmaid, sometimes called The Kitchen Maid, is an oil-on-canvas painting of a “milkmaid“ or maidservant pouring milk, entirely absorbed in her work. Except for the stream of milk, everything else is still. Vermeer took this simple everyday activity and made it the subject of an impressive painting – the woman stands like a statue in the brightly lit room. Johannes Vermeer’s paintings are considered among some of the most precious artworks in the world, and are kept in the world’s finest museums. Being entrusted with the masterpiece's safe transport across the world is an honour and testament of Louis Vuitton's heritage of quality craftsmanship.

    Introducing French Art de Vivre ‘Louis Vuitton and London,’ that celebrates the house’s savoir-faire and its continuing spirit of innovation.

    Commending Louis Vuitton’s history with London that began when Georges Vuitton opened his first London store on March 1st 1885, it features a remarkable collection of the house’s archive trunks.

    The Men’s Club will present historic pieces from the archives alongside current collections that celebrate the British art of lifestyle and entertainment. Created in the legendary Asnières atelier in France, each Louis Vuitton trunk takes shape according to the dreams and desires of clients from around the world.

    Classic British sport pastimes are highlighted with notable trunks including lawn and poker sets. DJ and casino trunks celebrate leisure activities whilst champagne, wine and caviar trunks acknowledge the fine art of dining.

    Remaining faithful to the spirit of its founder, Louis Vuitton, who invented a genuine “Art of Packing” the Men’s Club also honour a selection of trunks for travel including, sea, land and air.

    Paradise found on the Corsican coast. Photographer Craig McDean captured Alicia Vikander wearing the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2019 Collection on the Mediterranean island's striking coastline.  Two iconic Louis Vuitton bags, the Capucines and the Twist, as well as the Archlight trainers make appearances in fresh finishes for the new season. Also featured is a handbag from the capsule collection with the iconic writer, illustrator, and fashion editor Grace Coddington. This collaboration reprised her imaginary menagerie to bring her charming animal sketches to a line of Louis Vuitton accessories.

    The Cruise 2019 Collection will be available in stores from November 2nd

    First presented at the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul de Vence, the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2019 Collection by Nicolas Ghesquière was a tribute to the spirit of originality for which the family of art collectors is celebrated. Now, in the advertising campaign directed by Ujin Lin, the spirit is carried on by Swedish actress Alicia Vikander against the stunning backdrop of the coast of Corsica, France.

    The store will also offer the House’s collection of men’s fragrances - five scents that pay homage to adventurers seeking self-revelation.

    Finally, the Ombre Nomade fragrance will plunge you into the depths of the darkest and most precious woods.

    The pop-up invites you to explore different senses and travel to new horizons. You can customise your perfume bottle or travel case with engraved initials in a gilded or tone-on-tone finish, leaving a personal and indelible imprint.
