Fondation Louis Vuitton building in Paris by Frank Gehry, with the participation of Daniel Buren.
The new Exhibition in the Espace Louis Vuitton Venice will be open to the public from 27th May - 26th November 2016
Espace Louis Vuitton Venice inaugurates the “Fondation Louis Vuitton Building in Paris by Frank Gehry, with the participation of Daniel Buren” exhibition which retraces the story of the architect’s dream of “designing a magnificent vessel for Paris that symbolises France’s profound cultural vocation“.
Initially unveiled in Paris for the inauguration of the Fondation Louis Vuitton, the exhibition has been specially redesigned by Gehry & Partners for the Espace Louis Vuitton Venice. It is part of the ‘Beyond the Walls’ program, which presents the building’s impressive architecture as well as the rich artistic program of the Fondation.
As part of the exhibition, Daniel Buren has created a special in situ installation for the Espace Louis Vuitton windows entitled “Shattered by reflections: the colours”. The work echoes his latest one, entitled "Observatory of Light ", created for the Fondation in Paris and unveiled this spring.
The Louis Vuitton Spazio Etoile in Rome will also present a program dedicated to Fondation Louis Vuitton, in line with the Venetian Espace.
