ARNAULT FAMILY AND THE LVMH GROUP DONATE TO NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS
Louis Vuitton is proud to be a part of the LVMH Group, which, along with the Arnault Family, is committed to assist with the reconstruction of this extraordinary cathedral, symbol of France, its heritage and its unity. Together they will donate 200 million euros to the fund dedicated to the reconstruction of this architectural work.
In the meantime, the LVMH Group offers its teams – including creative, architectural and financial specialists - to help the State and relevant authorities with the long work of reconstruction and fundraising.
On 14th March 2019, Tropical Cyclone Idai made its deadly assault on Mozambique and neighbouring countries. Today, 1.5 million children are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, like Aruminda and her little brother Antonio, settled in a camp for displaced people in Mozambique.
Please consider supporting UNICEF’s efforts to provide critical support to affected families.

Louis Vuitton pays tribute to Karl Lagerfeld, who was much more than a singular and prolific fashion icon, but also a long-standing friend of the House.
Lagerfeld’s iconoclastic approach to redefining fashion - particularly predicting and understanding the importance of ready-to-wear and knowing how to revitalise and reinvent brands - could be seen as the blueprint by which many fashion houses operate today. As both a pre-eminent designer, fashion trouble-shooter and contemporary Renaissance man, Lagerfeld’s contributions to the fashion and luxury world are innumerable.
Lagerfeld’s close relationship with Louis Vuitton brought about several collaborations, including a custom one-of-a-kind trunk to hold his collection of 20 iPods and sound equipment.
For Louis Vuitton’s 2014 project “THE ICON AND THE ICONOCLAST: Celebrating Monogram”, Lagerfeld was one of six creatives chosen to show the distinctly personal side of the Monogram; re-presenting something we think we all know in an extraordinary, individual and idiosyncratic way. Given carte blanche to dictate and make whatever he saw fit in the iconic canvas, Lagerfeld designed a collection of boxing gear: a large trunk for variously sized punching bags, boxing gloves, carrying case, and even an instructive mat. Of his contribution, he said “It is fun! In fact, I had several ideas and Louis Vuitton wanted to do them all – why not? … It was really very childish, simple thinking!”
On news of Lagerfeld’s passing, Louis Vuitton CEO Michael Burke shared: “Karl adopted me when I was in need of a friend in Rome! We became partners in crime and wrote history on the Great Wall of China. Aim high, shoot for the stars. You will always be our guiding light.”
For Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, a fragrance is both literally and figuratively an invitation to travel. He doesn’t just see a flower as a raw material, but “the starting point for a very intimate journey”. As a third generation perfumer and Grasse native, Louis Vuitton's Master Perfumer has created each of Louis Vuitton perfumes in his creative atelier at the Fontaines Parfumées estate, inspired by his travels around the world to source the most precious of ingredients. Located in the South of France, the town of Grasse has been a traditional cradle for both the perfumery and leathermaking industries. As a child, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud would pass in front of the Fontaines Parfumées on his way to school, and never dreamed that it would become his creative atelier 40 years later.
In a video presenting both the historic estate and the precious ingredients, learn more about the creative atelier by following along with Louis Vuitton's Master Perfumer.

World Children’s Day, held on November 20th, marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. It is a day to honour children and mobilise people to help save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential. In continuation of its #MAKEAPROMISE campaign, Louis Vuitton, with the help of Sophie Turner, continues its commitment to raise awareness and funds for UNICEF to support the most vulnerable children around the world.
Sophie Turner, English actress and Friend of the House, was invited by Louis Vuitton to design a special Silver Lockit bracelet to help LOUIS VUITTON for UNICEF continue its promise to helping children. Inspired by her notion of luck, the bracelet was designed with braided red and white cord colours with a circular charm rabbit illustration, taken from the design* of her most recent tattoo.
Since the launch of the Silver Lockit in 2016, the partnership has raised over six US million dollars for UNICEF.
The Silver Lockit, inspired by the tumbler lock invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect clients’ most precious belongings, is a symbol of protection. It was chosen as a symbol of sealing one’s promise to help children at risk.
The launch of the Silver Lockit by Sophie Turner will be held on November 20th 2018 on louisvuitton.com and in over 160 Louis Vuitton stores worldwide.
