Rajasthan, the land of kings in the north-western corner of India, inspired Louis Vuitton in an exploration of the origins of menswear, offering a timeless look of true sophistication.

“While last season’s collection was about looking down at the earth from above, this time we’re looking up at the stars,” says Kim Jones, Men’s Artistic Director.

From Jaipur to Ranthambore, a vision of contemporary and eternal India has been remixed by Louis Vuitton into a glamorous blend of sophisticated embellished fabrics, smart military tailoring and inventive sport style.

The Emprise collection of watches and fine jewellery perfectly integrates within the Parisian style atmosphere found in this year’s Michelle Williams ad campaign.

The rigorous styling of this collection falls within an aristocratic lineage, imbued with a purely Parisian heritage. The severe outlines of the volumes and the precious stone assemblies with their myriad reflections reproduce the magnificent perspectives created in Paris by Baron Haussmann during the 19th century, and the long procession of salons and interplay of mirrors found in the rich townhouses around the Parc Monceau. Gold tassels that tremble at the slightest movement recall the Haute Couture and gaiety of Second Empire festivities.

On this visual, a graphic and delicate yellow gold watch from the new Emprise collection is worn by Michelle Williams to discover HERE along with the entire collection.

A Women’s Prefall and Icons collections for Louis Vuitton inspired by Charlotte Perriand’s modern, timeless and comfortable allure to be twisted with the 80’s top models’ hypnotic silhouette.

Upon returning from Japan in the 1940s, the architect, designer and photographer, Charlotte Perriand, wrote: “A new way of living awaited me there: work, leisure, discovery, representation. I had made up my wardrobe with interchangeable “modules,” as in my investigations of standardization: four skirts, long or short, for the lower body and sweaters, blouses and bustiers for the top, all of which combined to give me at least 16 possibilities. By adding scarves, stoles, atypical jewels and gloves, I achieved wide variety with a great deal of surprise and fantasy.”

In this regard, the clothes from the 2014/2015 Icons collection are designed to face the challenges of a busy woman’s life. The wardrobe offers modern comfort and nomad elegance, together with exceptional craftsmanship and a basic colour palette including burgundy, park green, navy, black and beige.

To add effortless glamour to your silhouette, the 2014 Prefall collection associates the essence of the 1980s throughout new suiting, fluid dresses, outerwear, with contrasted elements such as leather, fur, sequins graffiti prints and embroideries.

Louis Vuitton showed its Cruise collection for the first time and had the honour of presenting it in the prestigious Principality of Monaco.

The strong and lasting ties between the House and the Principality are strengthened by a common vision, as HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco states, "Elegance, beauty and refinement are values shared by the Principality and this prestigious Maison."

By presenting his first Cruise collection as Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton’s women’s collections in the French Riviera, Nicolas Ghesquière is also connecting with the past: the origins of the Louis Vuitton legend, on the Côte d’Azur, where the arts of travel, luxury and escape first joined hands.

Blogger Pelayo Diaz documented the event with this series of photo from the front row.
