MEN'S SPRING-SUMMER 2019 CAMPAIGN: INFANCY, CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE

Introducing the Men's Spring-Summer 2019 Campaign, to be revealed in three chapters.

For the Men’s Spring-Summer 2019 Campaign, Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh illuminates the values established in his debut collection for the Maison by investigating ideas of individual growth and perception through the lens of inclusivity and diversity. Shot by Inez & Vinoodh, the first chapter titled “Infancy, Childhood, and Adolescence” focuses on the developmental stages that form a man’s identity and wardrobe.

Virgil Abloh’s ongoing study of boyhood is represented on individuals at different points in a person’s upbringing. These individuals appear bathed in poppy and rainbow motifs central to The Wizard of Oz allegories that paint the collection. Representing infancy and childhood, Alieyth (3 years old) and Jack (2) embody the purity of being still unaffected by preordained perceptions of gender, colour, and creed. For adolescence, actors Leo James David (7), Evan Rosado (12), and Luke Prael (16) illustrate the pre-teen and teenage stages of boyhood and reflect on the desires and dreams of their generation.
