  • SERIES 3 LONDON EXHIBITION: SUSIE LAU IN CONVERSATION WITH ALEXANDER FURY

    Unpacking Louis Vuitton's fashion identity.

On Friday October 9th, SERIES 3 exhibition hosted a conversation between Susie Lau, founder of STYLE BUBBLE and Alexander Fury, fashion editor of THE INDEPENDENT. In front of an audience of fashionistas, they unpacked Louis Vuitton fashion identity since the arrival of Nicolas Ghesquiere as Creative Director  Women’s collection. Susie Lau summarises:

"The conversation between myself and Alexander Fury was really inspired by the way we always dissect the shows and designers during fashion week.  Nicolas Ghesquiere is a designer that we feel that we've sort of grown up with, as we're both fans of his work - he's a designer who is of 'our' generation and so it wasn't difficult to enthuse about what he does and how his trajectory has evolved at Louis Vuitton. The fashion identity of LV is one of the most exciting things to have happened to the landscape in the last few years and has made a real impact and so it was really interesting to unpick the elements that have contributed to Ghesquiere's success at LV. I hope guests took away something from the discussion and perhaps maybe looked at his work in a different way."

Final week to visit SERIES 3  exhibition: FREE ADMISION. 180 Strand. Open daily from 10 am to 8 pm until Sunday, October 18th, 2015.

Skip the queue and book your free ticket now.

A glimpse at the craftsmanship behind Nicolas Ghesquière's collection.

This Spring-Summer 2016 collection is about stylistic role-playing, where the heroine passes through various sartorial levels.

In passing through these aesthetic levels, the entire evolution of a classic, urban wardrobe is gradually re-mastered, rooted in the illusion of materials that are, in fact, very real: linen, silk, leather, python and shagreen are "re-loaded" by the celebrated House's "savoir-faire".
