LOUIS VUITTON TRAVEL BOOK “TOKYO” BY EBOY

The eBoy collective, pioneer of pixel art, walks around Tokyo for a new title in the Louis Vuitton Travel Book collection with a pleasing freshness.

The eBoy creations — “drawings” doesn’t seem quite the right word — seem familiar somehow. No doubt because of the many influences they incorporate from advertising, arcade games, supermarket shelves, Lego, magazine design, etc. These pixelated works are simple yet complex, inevitably abstract and yet so close to reality that we are sometimes amazed to recognise the faces of those who populate them, as in this Travel Book devoted to Tokyo. Their playful universe is nonetheless demanding. Impressionistic and pointillistic, it is also systematic, almost mathematical. In short, it’s unique.

Each Travel Book title contains the artist's biography, travelogue, blurbs and captions. In its pages, the illustrations of renowned artists and promising young talents tell the stories of the cities and countries they have visited, depicting each place’s varied architecture and special light, and recording the passing days and the lives of its people.

For each new title, a numbered and signed limited edition is available in select Louis Vuitton stores.
